Visitation will be held from 3-8 p. m. Wednesday, February 6th, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a. m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev.

Howard Buchholz officiating. He was born December 9, 1978 in Lake Wales, FL, to Richard and Dee Dee (Longoria) Underwood. In 2016, he married Ashley Barnes of Marseilles who survives.

Brian attended Marseilles Grade School and was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School, Class of 1997. He enjoyed playing soccer as well as many other sports. Brian was a loving husband and great father, who was very active in coaching and helping out with the sports and activities that his children were involved with.

Brian was employed as a deputy for the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Department and also had worked for the Seneca and Marseilles Police Departments. He is survived by his wife, Ashley; his two children, Austin and Avery; two brothers, Samuel (Amy) Woods of Norfolk, VA and Mathew (Amber) Underwood of Ottawa; one sister, Angela (Jeff Nudd) Underwood of La Moille; his mother, Dee Dee (Renee) Ulses-Underwood of Marseilles; his in-laws, Jim (Karen) Barnes of Marseilles; a sister-in-law, Danielle (Sam) Lewis of Sugarland, TX; and many nieces and nephews. Brian was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.
