Obituary for Bruce C. Soderholm Bruce C. Soderholm, 75, of Naples, FL, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018. Formerly of Bridgewater and Harwich, MA, he had been a Naples resident since 2001. He was born May 21, 1942 in Brockton, MA, the son of Marjorie (née Augustine) and Bruce C. Soderholm Sr. After graduating from W.B.H.S.

in 1960 Bruce attended Husson College, in Bangor Maine, receiving an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. He then joined and worked in the family business, Hillcrest Dairy, while putting himself through Northeastern University, Boston MA, where he graduated in 1972 with honors. Bruce eventually went to work at Talbots in Hingham MA.

Over a 32 year span he worked his way up the organizational ladder ultimately retiring as the Senior V.P. of Operations. Also, during this time from 1972 to 1992 he ran a very successful tax accounting business. Bruce was very active in the community coaching little league baseball, youth hockey, basketball and serving at one time as the President of the West Bridgewater Youth Athletic Association for 10 years, he also served on the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, and was the chairman of the Investment Board at Bridgewater Savings Bank.

Bruce was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved playing golf and tennis on Cape Cod and in Naples, Florida. Upon retiring from Talbots in 2007, he spent winters at the Club at Mediterra, where he has enjoyed being involved with sports, social, community activities and his favorite collecting club trophies.

At Mediterra he served as the Treasurer on the Board of Governors for 9 years as well as chairing numerous other committees including the Finance Committee, Sports Committee and the Design Committee. Bruce was also instrumental in launching the extremely popular Bocce Program at the club. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him throughout his very successful career and his extensive social activity.

Mr. Soderholm is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janice L. (née Wright) Soderholm; his beloved sons, Steven (Susan) Soderholm of San Diego, CA, Jeffrey (Lisa) Soderholm of Lakeville, MA and Brian (Brooke Bina) Soderholm of Portland, OR; his sister, Linda Collier of Wilmington, DE; and three cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Shay and Sami. A memorial gathering and celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 5th, 2018 at the Club at Mediterra, Naples FL, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. Future plans for a celebration of Bruce’s life to be held on Cape Cod will be announced at a later date In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Davenport Mugar Cancer Center located on Cape Cod in Hyannis MA (www.
