Obituary for Theodora Jensen Theodora May (Twiggs) Jensen died peacefully early Friday morning, April 13, 2018. Known to her friends and family as Teddy, she was born at home in Mt. Vernon, New York, on July 9, 1930.

She made life-long friendships at Davis High School, before earning her Associate of Science degree at Concordia Lutheran College, Bronxville, NY. There she met Thomas Jensen, the love of her life. They married just before he was sent to Korea in service with the United States Army.

Upon his return they bought a house in Garden City, NY, and began their life together. While raising their four children, Teddy was an active volunteer with the PTA, both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and also with the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, where the family were active members. When they moved to Kinnelon, NJ, Teddy began again, establishing herself as a willing and able volunteer with several groups, but especially with The Laurel Guild of Smoke Rise Community Church.

During all this time, she was a loving and devoted mother not only to her own four children, but to many of their friends. In retirement in Bonita Bay, Bonita Springs, FL, Teddy hardly slowed down, again finding volunteer opportunities as well as book clubs and other social activities. She always found meaning in helping others.

It was a precept of her life never to speak ill of anyone, and she lived that out remarkably well. Teddy was welcomed to her eternal home by her husband, who passed away four years ago, and by her parents, sister, and a grandson. She leaves behind her four children: Dorothy J. (Wayne) Wilcox; David T. (Allison) Jensen; J. Stuart (Sharyn Lynch) Jensen; Eric R. Jensen; and her grandchildren: Meredith Wilcox; Laura Jensen; Alexander Wilcox; Hannah Jensen; Gwen Jensen; and Astrid Jensen.

Teddy also leaves her devoted sister-in-law Beverly Jensen, a nephew James (Joan) Mog, and nieces Lisbeth (Susan) Mog, Margaret (John) Brady, and several beloved cousins. She loved them well all her life, and she will be missed. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
