Bryant Eugene King passed away at age of 97. Bryant was born in Los Angeles to Charles Eugene King and Josephine Bryant King. He later moved to Northern California where he meet his wife Darlyne Cleo Simon King.

Together they lived in Diablo, Lafayette and Moraga where they raised their two children. He is survived by his son, John Kevin King (Cheryl) of Cedar Rapids Iowa and daughter, Kathleen Heather King of San Ramon California. Bryant was preceded in death by his wife Darlyne whom he devotedly cared for at home as she battled Alzheimer’s until her passing in 2015.

He received his degree in Economics from UCLA and attended graduate school at Stanford University. After the completion of his studies he worked for the Shell Oil Company followed by 33 years with Blue Cross where he was Director of Corporate Communications. He later consulted in medical economics.

Bryant was active in the community having served as a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Cerebral Palsy Center of the Bay Area as well as on the board of the Mary Valle foundation. He was a member of the Moraga Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a longtime supporter of the Boy Scouts of America he served on the Executive Committee of the Mt Diablo Council.

Bryant will be buried next to Darlyne, the love of his life in the Oakmont Memorial Park. According to his wishes there will be a private service at the gravesite with his family. Condolences at oakparkhillschapel.com.
