Bluefield, WV- Buford “Allen” Burton, 82, of Bluefield, WV went to be with the Lord on Tuesday February 12, 2019 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born November 8, 1936 in Bland Co., VA, he was a son of the late Frederick Hash Burton and Ethel Iola DeHart Burton. Mr. Burton was a 50+ year member of Bible Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, trustee, and treasurer.

He loved International tractors and was the owner and caretaker of Burton’s Pond and Campground. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wm. Jeff Burton; and a nephew, Darrel Burton.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, E. Lee “Lee Lee” Burton; two children, Mayrissa Fender and husband Michael and Cristy Kinser and husband Jeff; sister, Phyllis Campbell; two grandchildren, Jessica Pyles and husband Danny and Kaitlin Kinser and family; two great-grandchildren who were near and dear to his heart, Isaac and Ali Pyles; special brothers-in law and sisters-in-law who were very helpful during his sickness; several nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends and neighbors. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday February 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Stephen Umberger and Rev. Randy Morris officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, if desired, may be made in memory of Mr. Burton to Bible Baptist Church, 1809 Vineyard Street, Bluefield, WV 24701, to Bluefield Union Mission, 2203 Bluefield Avenue, Bluefield, WV 24701, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
