Carrol Ashton Butler Garland, TX Carrol Ashton Butler, 91, of Garland, TX. passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at his home. Carrol was born on March 2, 1928 in Plain Dealing, La.

to the late James Luther Butler and Allyedel Butler Crockett. He was a member of Lakepointe Church in Rockwall, TX. He attended LSU where he ran track and the team won back to back SEC championships.

He then joined and spent 8 years in the Louisiana National Guard. His first professional job was with the Bossier Parish School Board. He then joined Magnolia Petroleum Co. which eventually became Mobil Oil Corp.

In 1960 he moved to Garland, TX. where he eventually retired from Mobil after 38 yrs 7 mos of service. Carrol enjoyed fishing and hunting but more than anything else spending time with his family who he dearly loved.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rosemary Kirklin Butler; sons, Mark Butler and wife Sherry of Carrollton, TX. and Mike Butler and wife Theresa of Garland, TX. ; grandchildren, Rachel Donner and husband Ryan, Dustin Brown and wife Calli; great grandchildren, Matthew Butler, Jr., McKayla Butler, Brooke Brown, Bailey Brown, and Ashton Donner.

Carrol was preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, Matthew Butler, Sr. and David Butler. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, March 18, 2019, at the Plain Dealing Cemetery, Plain Dealing, LA, with Rev. Todd Pickard officiating.
