Travis Engle Sarepta, LA Funeral services for Mr. Travis Engle, age 89, will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, March 15, 2019, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA, with Bro. Larry Buford officiating. Interment will follow in Old Sarepta Cemetery, Sarepta, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 14, 2019, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Engle was born on July 16, 1929 to William Curtis and Minnie Rosalee Armstrong Engle in Selma, LA and passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 in Sarepta, LA. He was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church and was a retired carpenter and roofer.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and walking and he loved his little dog dearly. He is survived by four daughters, Alma Slade and husband, Robert of San Antonio, TX, Janet Wise and husband, Ronnie of Shongaloo, Susan Grillett and husband, Gary of Shongaloo, Laura Eaton of Minden; three sons, Glen Engle and wife, Ouida of Sarepta, Curtis Engle and wife, Karen of Sarepta, Ronald Engle and wife, Rosemary of Swansea, MA; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. Mr. Engle was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Myrtle Bernice Engle; daughter, Myrtle Rosalee Branton; son, Edward Ray Engle; and seven siblings.

Pallbearers will be Clint Rigmaiden, Samuel Grillett, Peter Grillett, Ronnie Blake, Randy Collins and David Dragland. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Cunningham, Mike Shipskey and Alton Wright. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to St. Joseph’s hospice for their wonderful care during Mr. Engle’s illness.
