Obituary for C. Darby Fulton C. Darby Fulton, 85, formally of Johnstown, passed away July 1, 2018 in Ft Myers, Florida after many years of suffering with Alzheimer’s disease. Darby was born June 24, 1933 in Harrisburg, Pa to Charles and Dorothy (Nicoll) Fulton. He and Dolores (Williams) were married in Johnstown on August 27, 1955 and had three children, Cindy (Fulton) Stone of Elizabethtown, PA, Jennifer, of West Palm Beach, FL and Charlie of Ft Myers Florida.

Darby was proceeded in death by his sister Joan (Fulton) Edmeads of Emaus, PA. Darby attended Cochran and Johnstown High School and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh prior to joining the army where Dolores joined him at his station in Boeblingen, Germany. After the Army, Darby and Dee moved to Hollidaysburg, Pa and joined his father in Fulton Piano and Organ Co. Under Darby’s leadership the company expanded to 26 stores and brought music into the homes of families across the state.

He was on the board of the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), Johnstown Symphony, member of the Hammond Organ Society, Sunnehanna Country Club and Westmont United Presbyterian Church. Darby may be best remembered for the energy he gave to his hobbies. Over the years, visitors to the house on Luzerne St were amazed by Darby’s fish tanks, house plants, flower gardens and cooking.

He loved music, playing tennis, entertaining, traveling, meeting new people and creative storytelling. He delighted in his annual Fourth of July neighborhood contest where there was a $1. 00 rewarded for retrieving tennis balls fired high into the air from a live mortar in the back yard.

Dee and Darby retired to Florida in 1994 where new and old friends meet at their home in Ft. Myers. Services will be held for Darby in Johnstown, PA in early September.
