C. Wandanette “Wanda” (Miller) Strickling age 97, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Kingston of Ashland. She was born December 17, 1920 in Plymouth, Ohio, the daughter of Claude and Florence (Kinsel) Miller. Mrs. Strickling had been a resident of Ashland most all of her life where she was a Homemaker.

She was a member of Southview Grace Brethren Church. She was truly a Prayer Warrior. Wanda was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, loved flowers, sewing, making quilts and singing especially to the Gaithers.

She was also a collector of salt and paper shakers, glass shoes and Bells. Wanda most enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her children, Anna G. (Isaac) Lawton of Inman, S.C., John E. (Sandy) Strickling of Newark, OH, James E. Strickling of Ashland; 8 grandchildren; along with many great grandchildren.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Elizabeth “Betty” Knowlton; brothers, Raymond Miller, Meredith “Bud” Miller, and John Miller, and George W. Miller; and her sisters, Grace Wolfe, Ellen Washburn and Virginia M. Miller. Funeral services will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Mark Abel and Rev. Isaac Lawton officiating.

Burial will follow at Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday June 7, 2018 from 7 to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Wanda’s memory to Partners in Christ, 1672 Township Road 1043, Ashland, Ohio 44805or to Hospice of North Central Ohio 1050 Dauch Dr. Ashland, Ohio 44805.
