MANTUA Candace Marie “Candy” Young, 68 years of age, passed away Friday July 27, 2018 at UH-Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Candy was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 19, 1949, the daughter of Robert and Lois (Hampton) Cline. A lifetime Mantua resident, Candy was a 1968 graduate of Crestwood High School where she was Head Majorette, and had participated with the Mohawks in competition twirling 2 Fire Batons.

She was the owner-operator for many years of the “Best Little Hair Hut” beauty shop in Mantua until her retirement in 2011. Candy was a former member of Mystic Chapter O.E.S. and Rainbow Girls. Her children’s lives were most important to her, as she was a volunteer for their school activities, a Brownie Troop Leader for her daughters, and will be remembered by all of her children for never missing any of their athletic events.

Candy loved all animals, and cherished memories of her love for family, and their love for her will forever remain. Candy lived a life of giving and caring for everyone , never expecting anything in return. Her passing and the principles she stood for are a living legacy to a wonderful lady.

Always wanting to help her community, Candy was active in the yearly Mantua Potato Festival where she devoted hours of assistant to the event. Her community will truly miss Candy for all of her care and devotion to the place she called home. Candy is survived by her devoted children James (Amy) MacLearie, Heather (Brian) Sara and Amy (Dan) Galvin, all of Mantua; her beloved mother Lois Cline of Mantua; her dear siblings Jeff (Nancy) Cline and Robin (Patti) Cline both of Hiram, Larry (Carol) Cline of Ravenna; her cherished grandchildren Madison, Meghan, Emily, Allison, Brody, Niklas and Katharina, and her loving 4-legged child “Alfie”.

She was preceded in death by her beloved father Robert Cline in 1988, her cherished son Matthew Young in 1988, and her loving husband William Young in 2009. Visitation will be Tuesday July 31, 2018 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St. Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255.
