MANTUA Raymond M. “Ray” Horvath, 76 years of age, passed away Tuesday October 16, 2018 at University Hospital-Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Ray was born in Ravenna, Ohio on February 15, 1942, the son of the late William and Helen (Marmash) Horvath. A lifetime Mantua area resident, Ray had been employed as the Mantua Township Road Supervisor, as well as working for Mantua Village, and a Union concrete masonry worker.

Ray loved the outdoors including hunting, gardening, and without a doubt was an “avid collector of many things that included Native American artifacts”. His enjoyment of food was evident in his cooking skills, and the weekly dinners out that he and Sandy looked forward to often with their many friends. Family was truly important to Ray, and while they will mourn the unexpected passing of Ray, memories of the time spent with him will forever be cherished.

On November 24, 1962, he married his beloved wife Sandra L. “Sandy” Horvath who preceded him in death on April 27, 2017. Survivors include his devoted daughters Sherri Horvath and Tonya (Ken) Cofojohn both of Mantua; dear siblings William (Vivian) Horvath, Jr. of Ravenna and Carol Rabitan of Garrettsville; and his loving grandchildren Joel Kulish, Curtis Cofojohn, Carlie Cofojohn, and great-grandchildren Kira and Elan Kulish and Dominic Yonker. Visitation will be Sunday October 21, 2018 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service , 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of State Route 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255 from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. where a brief service will begin at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor David Gray officiating.

A time of fellowship and sharing will immediately follow at the Mantua Center School Hall. Final resting place will be at Hillside Cemetery, Mantua Village, Ohio. His Video-Gift tribute, condolences and memories may be viewed at www.
