Carl Leon’s Obituary Carl Leon Floyd of Bruce, MS passed away peacefully at his home on January 3, 2019. Born in Coffeeville, MS on June, 1 1934 to the late Robert and Lyda Floyd, Carl was 84. Carl was a Civil Engineer, where his job duties including being a surveyor.

During his down time, he also enjoyed the duties of being a Barber. Carl, dedicated to being a church-going christian man, was a faithful and active member of Parker Baptist Church. While always putting family first, Carl had no limit to his giving in order to help anyone that needed it.

Carl leaves behind his wife, Joanne Swinehart Floyd of Bruce; Daughters DeDe Sanchez of New Berry Springs, California and Pam SanMillan of Barstow, California; Sons Terry Floyd of Barstow, CA, Rob Floyd, of Savannah, Georgia, and Jimmy Jones, of Bruce, MS; Sisters Christine Morgan, Elizabeth Bollinger, and Artell Black; Brothers John David Floyd, Pinky Floyd, Bob Floyd; Brandy Mantia, Amber Prokopis, Hannah Floyd, Buddy Jones, Alyssa Jones, and Tristen Jones; 3 Great-Grandchildren; and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren. A visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. at Parker Baptist Church. A funeral service honoring Carl’s life will follow visitation, starting at 4 p.m. at the church.

Bro. Paul Morris and Bro. Kevin Purdon will serve as Officiants.

Following funeral services, Carl will be laid to rest that afternoon at the Parker Baptist Church Cemetery. Bill Morgan, Rick Morgan, Rob Morgan, Jerry Plunk, and Phillip Bollinger, and Ronnie Bollinger will serve the family as Pallbearers. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Leslie Buford, Steve Poindexter, Robert Melton, Stephan Morgan, Vernon Plunk, Dale Morgan, Donnie Logan, and Les Morgan.

Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce is honored to be entrusted by the family in helping to make arrangements honoring the life of Carl.
