Carmella “Maizie” Bodnovich of Masury, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 5:32 a.m. in O’Brien’s Memorial Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was 91. She was born on August 20, 1927 in Tower Hill, PA the daughter of the late Giovani and Rose Salain Chan.

She attended Redstone High School. Earlier in life, Carmella worked at G.C. Murphy Co. 5 & 10 cent Store. Maizie was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church.

Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family, the special moments she shared cooking and sitting around the kitchen table to traveling all over the country making memories that they will cherish forever. To the simplest of time spent shopping together. Her husband, Michael “Bub” Bodnovich whom she married July 10, 1948, passed away on December 13, 2006.

She is survived by a daughter, Tina (Mark) Longietti of Hermitage; 2 sons, Larry M. Bodnovich and Daniel A. Bodnovich both of Masury; 2 sisters, Mildred Gabaletta of Uniontown, PA and Delores Bruschi of Republic, PA; a brother, John (Sandra) Chan of Republic, PA; 2 grandchildren, Tara Giancola and Melissa Marley; 3 great grandchildren, Makayla, Mary and Michael Marley. A sister in law, Anna Mae Chan. In addition to her parents and husband, Carmella was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joseph (Lena) DiCianna and Sam Chan; 6 sisters, Mary (Louis) Vomero, Philomena (Andy) Hollis, Louise Ruse, Yolanda (Joseph) Calameo, Theresa (Sam) Russo, and Angelina Danko.

A Funeral of Devine Liturgy will take place on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage with Fr. Kevin Marks. Prior to mass a Panachida Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.

Interment will be in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wm Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services 614 Warren Ave. Niles, OH 44446.
