Carol Ann Kelly, 69, North State Street, DuBois, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born April 20, 1949 in Indiana, PA she was the second youngest of seven children to the late William and Grace Thomas. Carol graduated from the Indiana School of Nursing in 1970 and became a registered nurse.

Carol was a skillful and compassionate nurse, working for the DuBois Hospital, Home Health, an office nurse for Dr. Lang (Agape Health Center), and finally for Dr. Scerbo until her retirement nine years ago. She loved her patients and they felt the same about her. She was also a loving mother, grandma, and sister.

Her family was the most important thing to her, and she always took the time to do whatever she could to make the lives of others easier. Carol was a faithful woman who believed in service to others and volunteered for many organizations over the years. She loved bird watching, reading, flower gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Carol is survived by her daughter, Katie (Eugene) Shuhayda; grandchildren, Rocco and Willow; her sister, June (John) Cicola; her brother, Tom (Sally) Thomas; her brothers-in-law, Harold Fleming, James Witherite, and John (Beryl) Kelly; her sister-in-law, Carol Jean (Bob) Mehok, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Jean Fleming, her brothers, James (Joy) Thomas, Robert Thomas, and William (Joan) Thomas, her sister-in-law, Sarah “Chuckie” Whiterite, and her in-laws, John Kelly Sr. and Stanley and Sarah (Kelly) Pasierb.

Friends and family will be received Sunday, June 17th from 2-4 & 6-8 at the Adamson Funeral Chapel Inc. A Mass of Christen burial will be Monday, June 18th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery.
