Obituary for Carol Coldsmith (Bingaman) Carol Ann Coldsmith, 63, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the evening of Sunday, September 30, 2018, at the Chambersburg Hospital. She was born on August 10, 1955, in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late Helen Ashway Bingaman and married Walter “Barney” Coldsmith on November 9, 1979, in the Chambersburg Bible Church. Carol was a homemaker throughout her life.

She also worked for a period of time as a Housekeeper at the former Guilford Commissarium. She was a member of the Overflow Community Church, Chambersburg and worked as a crossing guard for the Chambersburg School District. Carol loved to cook, enjoyed arts and crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Ever so selfless, Carol was always one who put others before herself. In addition to her husband of thirty-nine years, Walter, she is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann (Andrew) Hansen of Falls Church, VA; her son, Michael David (Alexis) Coldsmith of Hagerstown, MD; two grandchildren, Isabella Hansen and Michael Coldsmith; two brothers, John Bingaman & Clarence Bingaman; two sisters, Faye Bingaman, and Trudy Plantz; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, Carol was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne; and three infant grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at the Overflow Community Church, at 800 South 4th Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201. Pastor Doug Lehman will officiate. Interment will be private.

Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Overflow Community Church at P.O. Box 750, Chambersburg, PA 17201 or at www. overflowcc.org, to help Carol’s family defray final expenses.
