Carol J. Barker, 74 of Streetsboro, died Thursday January 24, 2019 at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born June 29, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Michael J. and Helen A. (Szurpicki) Rutkus. Ms. Barker has lived in Streetsboro most of her life and where she was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church.

She retired as a controller for Alltel which is now Windstream, was involved with the Streetsboro Senior Center, active member of The Streetsboro Heritage Foundation and enjoyed doing yardwork. She is survived by her sons Michael F. (Sherry) Barker, III, Brian J. (Joey) Barker, her grandchildren Melissa, Michael, Nicole, Evan, her siblings Robert (Candy) Rutkus, Gregory (Laurie) Rutkus sister in law Beverly Rutkus and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Michael Rutkus.

Calling hours will be Tuesday January 29, 2019 from 12 PM until time of funeral services at 1:00 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Streetsboro Chapel with Father Chris Luoni officiating.
