Ronald N. Yates 85 of Gladstone, Oregon, formerly of Ravenna and Rootstown, died Friday, January 4, 2019 in Gladstone. He was born November 7, 1933 in Detroit, MI to Russell and Margaret (Harrington) Yates. Ronald was a US Navy veteran, a member of Immaculate Conception Church and worked as a machinist for Ford Motor Company.

Survivors include his children Michael A. (Jackie) Yates and Diane M. (Vincent) Yates-Leonard, grandchildren Maggie Yates, Phoebe Smith, Sam (Clarissa) Smith, Daniel (Shannon) Smith and Emily Yates and siblings Geri Peterson, Arlene Quelette, Karen Good, Thomas Turner, John Turner, Robert Yates and Linda Mertins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Elisa in 2011. Calling hours will be from 10 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 11 AM on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna.

Father William Kraynak will officiate. Entombment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
