Carol Joy (Howard) Compton, 66, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. Carol was born in Evansville, Indiana on December 25, 1951 to the late Frederick Wayne and Frances June (Anderson) Howard. She was a 1969 graduate of Bosse High School and then graduated from Lockyear Business College .

Carol was a strong and loving single mother. She always put her children first and would go without so her children could be safe and comfortable. Carol was the kind of woman who never met a stranger and who was like a mother to everyone.

Carol is survived by her children, Angela Compton (Tiffany) of Evansville, IN, Antonio “Tony” Compton (Blake) of Nashville, TN and Cameron Compton (Leslie) of GA; sisters, Karyn Howard of Evansville, IN and Sherri Lile of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Christian, Kaleb, Kalabra, Camri and Nai’Yonna; great-grandchildren, Kaleeke, Ah’Zare, Aamir, Kingston, Rylei and baby “Z” on the way; and by many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; son, Adam Blair; and by her brother, Fred Howard. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Heritage Baptist Church, 1900 Lodge Ave.
