Carol L. Riddle, 75 years old, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Hospice House in South Bend. Carol was born on June 25, 1943 in Mishawaka, IN. She grew up in Mishawaka, raised her family in Lakeville, and has resided in South Bend for the past 15 years.

During the early 1960’s, Carol worked for the South Bend Tribune in the circulation department and retired after 23 years as a computer consultant. On August 22, 1964 in Lakeville, Carol and Roger E. Riddle were united in marriage. Along with her loving husband of 54 years, Roger, she is survived by their children, Jennifer L. Riddle of South Bend, Brian E. (Marcia Rushton) Riddle of Mishawaka and Craig A. (Mary) Riddle of South Bend; three grandchildren, Christopher, Raymond and James; one great grandson, Rayden; and two sisters, Joan (Richard) Elias of Elkhart and Jerri Greenlee-Brown of Houston, TX.

Carol’s parents, Otis and Lillian (Turner) Greenlee; and her sister, Judith Greenlee, preceded her in death. Carol enjoyed participating in a 3-day walk in Southern California, along with her sisters, and a close friend, where she raised awareness and financial support for breast cancer. She also was a counselor for breast cancer patients helping them cope with side effects, supporting them, all while educating them for treatment options.

Carol enjoyed crocheting with the ladies at Southlawn United Methodist Church, making and donating their blankets and hats to a variety of beneficial causes locally and abroad. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Pastor Anne Kumeh will officiate.

A private burial will be held at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Carol L. Riddle may be donated to Hospice House, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637, Southlawn United Methodist Church, c/o Women’s Crocheting, 60756 U.S. 31, South Bend, IN 46614, or to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
