Victor Brown 92, of South Bend, Indiana passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Monday, November 19th, 2018. Victor was born February 3, 1926 to the union of Henry Augusta Brown and Lessie Cobb Brown in Jackson, Tennessee. After graduating from the Jackson, Tennessee school system, he later moved to South Bend, Indiana.

In his spare time, he worked for Gilbert’s men’s clothiers, and L.S. Ayers & Macy’s Department Stores in the furniture department. Most notably, however, Victor was a devoted employee of First Source Bank, from which he retired in 2001. Victor was a very particular person.

Always dressed to impress, he left an indelible impression on everyone he met. He loved gardening and landscaping his property; and would often have people stop and ask for his expertise. One of his favorite hobbies was cars, antique and current models he could tell you all about them.

He made exercise a regular routine and rode his bike every day that he was able. He also took frequent walks through his subdivision talking with his neighbors – with whom he had great relationships. Victor was adored by many.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Anna Louise Williamson of Jackson, Tennessee; a great aunt Laddie Cobb of East St. Louis, Illinois, his special cousins and caregivers Luther (Gwen) Taylor, Sr., and Lonnie (Charlotte) Taylor, both of South Bend, Indiana; cousin Ruvader Hall also of South Bend, Indiana and a host of loving cousins, nieces, & nephews, other relatives, and good friends. Also surviving are his godchildren, Dana (Craig) Marsh of South Bend, Indiana, Darla Austin of Fishers, Indiana & Samuel Dion Austin Ill of Noblesville, Indiana, Spencer Grady Jr. of California and close friends Bill & Kim Brennan of Illinois. Preceding him in death are his parents and siblings Jessie (Mary) Brown of Jackson, Tennessee, Henry Carthell Brown of Pontiac, Michigan, Roosevelt Brown, Bernice Abbott, sister in law Beatrice Brown Herron and brother in law Clarence Williamson, all of Jackson, Tennessee, Services for Victor will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635.

Friends may call on the family for visitation for one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will follow on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Online expressions of sympathy may be left at www.
