Leonard A. Glon, 82, life-long resident of South Bend, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Sprenger Healthcare of Mishawaka. Leonard was born December 30, 1935 in South Bend, a son of the late Anthony S. and Yolanda (Jeziorski) Glon. On August 3, 1957 in Bremen, Indiana, he married Sharon K. Keck; she preceded him in death on July 13, 2018.

They had enjoyed nearly sixty-one years of marriage together. After graduating from high school, Leonard joined the United States Army in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1956. Leonard had worked for seventeen years with Allegra Print and Imaging; retiring in 2007.

Leonard attended the former Ridgedale Presbyterian Church. He was a 4-H leader for ten years. The family had many fond memories spending time with mom and dad showing horses.

He also loved being outdoors mowing his yard. Surviving are two daughters; Jody (Bob) Brinks, and Janell (Brian) Gorski, both of South Bend, his granddaughter; Ashley Hughes, and several step-grandchildren. Also surviving are his two sisters; Rosalie (John) Horth of South Bend, and Marcia Dujardin of Elkhorn, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife. Per Leonard’s wishes, no services are planned at this time. A celebration service will take place in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions may be directed to the AseraCare Hospice Elkhart, 700 East Beardsley Avenue, Suite 2B, Elkhart, Indiana 46514. Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, is helping the family with arrangements.
