Obituary for Carolyn Deane Edgeworth Mrs. Carolyn Deane Stroud Edgeworth, age 86, was called home on October 13, 2018, by the God she loved and believed in so deeply. She is re-united with her loving husband, Buddy Edgeworth, her baby brother, JW Stroud, and many other loved ones. She was born in Newnan, Ga.
on August 17, 1932 to the late William Ernest and Clessie Stroud. Her family moved to Atlanta when she was five years old and moved back to Newnan when she was 14. She graduated from Newnan High School.
Carolyn married the love of her life, Buddy Edgeworth, on February 17, 1953, and they were married 37 years before his death in 1990. She loved the Lord and enjoyed reading his word. She was a devoted member of Northside Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir for many years.
Carolyn always enjoyed working in her yard and having beautiful flowers, traveling with family, and talking on the phone each day to her two sisters. She will be remembered for her sweet smile, kind words, and loving heart. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Lee) Hunter, and son, Wayne (Pam) Edgeworth, both of Newnan.
She is also survived by grandchildren; Scott (Jessica) Hunter of Peachtree City, Lisa (Garri) Luker, of Newnan, Tyler (Maria) Edgeworth of Senoia, and Brittany Edgeworth, of Newnan; great-grandchildren, Carson and Lauren Luker, Will Hunter, Bryson, Brooklyn, and Braelyn Edgeworth. She is also survived by her two loving sisters and brother-in-law: Margaret Coggin and Ann (Charles) Dial; as well as many nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Carolyn will be on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan with Pastor BJ Cobb officiating.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm until the service time at the funeral home. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Carolyn’s memory to Northside Baptist Church, 3070 Highway 29 North, Newnan, Ga.
