Carolyn’s Obituary Carolyn Gorrell, 78, of rural Malta Bend, MO, died Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall, with Fr. Tom Alber officiatng.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Inurnment will be in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery in Shackelford.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church, Houston Mull FFA Scholarship or Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www. campbell-lewis.com Born November 8, 1940, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Raymond P. Wansing and Viola Boland Wansing.

She was a graduate of Mercy Academy in Marshall. On November 8, 1958, she married Charles E. “Chuck” Gorrell who preceded her in death on April 11, 2016. She lived in the Malta Bend community her entire life and retired from Bank of America.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Survivors include five children, Brent Gorrell (Ann) of Malta Bend, Brenda Mull (Robin) of rural Malta Bend, Gary Gorrell and Paula Gorrell of rural Malta Bend and Lona Briddle (Tracy) of Marshfield, MO; six grandchildren, Brad Mull (Danielle), Justine Gorrell, Dawn Teter (Joel) Jessie Gorrell, Holly Briddle and Nikki Briddle; two great-granddaughters, Ellie Mull and Cora Mull; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Carolyn was preceded in death by one grandson, Houston E. Mull; two brothers in infancy, Eugene Wansing and Robert Lee Wansing; one sister, Mildred Solomon; one niece, Connie Solomon; and one nephew, Mark Solomon.
