Carrie’s Obituary Carrie Hampton Easley, of Roanoke, Virginia quietly and peacefully answered the silent call of God’s voice and went to her eternal rest on Tuesday morning, February 19, 2019, at the age of 78 years old. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on March 24, 1940, daughter of the late Robert James Hampton and Millie Lynch Hampton. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James “Brother” Hampton and Paul “Hamp” Hampton; sisters, Violet Hampton, Millie Jones and Mary Ruth Dillard.

Carrie was educated in the Roanoke City Public School System and graduated from Lucy Addison High School. She also graduated from Virginia Western Community College. She retired from Verizon where she worked as a Directory Assistant for 20 years.

Carrie was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a dedicated member of Price Memorial AME Zion Church. Carrie was active in many church organizations and served on numerous boards.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Michelle (Tim) McCleary; son, Sean (Bridget) Easley; grandchildren, MaQuisha, Cierra and Sean Jr.; great-grandchildren, Keona Naszir, TaJae and Camore, all of Roanoke, Virginia; one brother, Albert Lewis Hampton; sisters, Frances Woods, Bertha (Bobby) Miller, Betty Jean King, Doretha Robinson and Cynthia Clarke; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held noon Monday, February 25, 2019, in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. Friends may call on Sunday afternoon for viewing at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to www.
