Sandra E. Moore April 7, 1948 – February 1, 2019 During the early morning of Friday, February 1, 2019 Sandra E. Moore quietly answered the Master’s call from labor to reward and journeyed into blessed splendor of immortality. Sandra entered this life on April 7, 1948 in Roanoke, VA the fourth child of Madeline C. Moore. Sandra is a 1966 graduate of Lucy Addison High School and of Lucy Addison High School and Burrell Memorial Hospital School of Practical Nursing of Roanoke, VA in 1972.

She continued her nursing education at the University of Virginia Hospital where she completed training for a certified operating room Nurse technique, (CORT). Sandra started her nursing career at Burrell Memorial Hospital later moved to Community Hospital and later moving to the Veteran Administration Hospital where she worked in the operating room as well as in the Emergency Room, but her first love was the Operating Room. Sandra joined High Street Baptist Church at a very young age and was active in the Willing Workers Club, Floral Club, and the Nursing Corp and she sang on the Sanctuary Choir and worked with the Missionary until her health failed.

Sandra was a quiet soft spoken person who was the caregiver of her mother (Big Momma) until her death in 1997. Sandra was a hard worker but enjoyed traveling and antiquing. You could find her and her brother Leonard out traveling the city and beyond looking for treasures.

Sandra was very secure in the person she was, she walked her own path and followed the direction her heart lead her even if she had to walk it alone. Sandra leaves to cherish her memories her brother Leonard Glasby, Niece and caregiver Gwen Glasby, both of Roanoke and Madeline Murphy, Carleen G. Hamlin, both of Richmond, Katrissa Smith and Katherine Smith, both of Maryland, Great Niece Natasha Glasby, Great Nephews Leon(Kurt) Glasby (Debbie), Leonard Covington (Leigh Ann) all of Roanoke, Lamont D. Glasby Denver Co., Percy L. Covington III (Tamara) of Maryland and several special friends Mary Smith, Linda Manns and Kanas King all of Roanoke.
