1923—2018 Catherine Barbara (Smith) Silva, born on July 14, 1923 in Pinole, California, to parents Anna Stark and Thomas Aloysius Smith, passed away peacefully in her home, at age 94 on July 6, 2018. She offered a gentle touch to many as a Registered Nurse, retiring from Queen of the Valley Hospital (Napa), in 1983. Catherine was married to the late WWII Veteran, Stanley H. Silva.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Smith; and sisters Elizabeth Smith and Loretta Livingston. Catherine is survived by her daughter, Ellen Silva, and son, Donald Silva (Deanna Silva), and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was the ‘life of the party’, knew words to hundreds of songs, and asked all to ‘think lovely thoughts’.

Friends and family are welcome to attend the Celebration of Life, Saturday, July 14, 2:00 to 4:00 PM at BayPark Retirement Home, 2621 Appian Way, Pinole.
