Obituary for Mrs. Catherine Brown Mrs. Catherine Brown Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA, for Mrs. Catherine Brown, 79, who entered eternal rest, Sunday, October 28, 2018 at her residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Park. Cherishing her memory are two sons, Michael W. Brown (Antoinette) of Lafayette, LA and Mark A. Brown, Opelousas, LA; nine grandchildren, Terry Watson, Nettie “Mona”, Natasha, Markeya, and Mark (Jr.

) Brown; and Taylor, Adrienne, Mackenzie and Parker Brown. She is also survived by six great grandchildren. Catherine is survived by seven siblings: Paul Ivory Johnson (Gloria) of Opelousas, LA, Amos Johnson, Jr. (Deborah) of Leonville, LA, Larry Johnson (Judy) of Church Point, LA, Harry Johnson (Angela) of Lafayette, LA, Rena Johnson Angelle (Leroy), Leona Johnson Angelle both of Opelousas, LA, and Rose Johnson Jenkins (Thomas) of Jackson, MS.

She is also survived by a special nephew, Terry Thompson and niece-in-law, Alfredia Thompson, and Tamica Lemelle who helped care for her during her illness. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Brown, oldest son, James “Peanut” Brown; her parents, Amos and Florence Johnson; sisters, Jane Johnson Carmouche and Leola Johnson Thompson; grandparents and other family members.
