Obituary for Cecil “Jabo” Slemp Jr. Cecil “Jabo” Slemp Jr. passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and a member of Charlie’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Slemp Sr. and Lucille Slemp; his grandparents, Judge Slemp and Delphia Slemp; his two brothers, Pete Slemp and Jeff Slemp; and his sister, Gletta Banks.

Survivors Include: His wife: Mary Slemp of Coeburn, Virginia Two Sons: Bryan Allen Slemp of Coeburn, Virginia and Joseph Dwayne Slemp of Alabama Three Sisters: Wynona Slemp of Pound, Virginia, Freeda and Jimbo Heaton of Pound, Virginia, and Debora and Edward Gonderman of Pound, Virginia Special Uncle: Hoover and Pat Slemp of Clintwood, Virginia Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews Six Grandchildren The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Buck Strouth and Tom Slemp officiating. Burial will be in the Slemp and Mullins Cemetery, Tempest Branch Section, Coeburn, Virginia.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joseph Slemp, Mike Gentry, Paul Banks, and Alphonso Smith. Mullins Funeral Home and Staff are serving the Slemp Family.
