YOUNGSTOWN – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Holy Apostles Parish at SS. Peter & Paul Croatian Roman Catholic Church, celebrated by Fr. Joseph Rudjak for Cecilia M. Zitkovich, 98, who passed away on March 22, 2019.

Cecilia was born October 26, 1920 in Koprvinica, Croatia, a daughter of the late Ivan and Rosalee Kosnjak Negro. She worked as professional seamstress in Croatia until she moved to the United States in 1956 and became a homemaker. Cecilia was a member of SS.

Peter and Paul Croatian Church, and was a member of the American Croatian Citizen’s Club. She loved to bake, including kolachi, strudels, cookies, and was active within the church and the Catholic Fraternal Union. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her two sons, Anthony Zitkovich with whom she made her home, and Stephen (Joyce) Zitkovich, grandchildren, Stephanie Zitkovich, Charles (Helene) Miller, and Aimee (Derek) Moore, great grandchildren, Mikayla Igo, Leah Igo, Trinnity Gonzalez, Marcos Gonzalez, Adriana Miller, Lennox Miller, Malaina Miller, niece and nephews, Louise Thomas, John and William Zitkovich, as well as many extended family members.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stephen N. Zitkovich, whom she married January 8, 1956 and who passed away March 30, 1992, as well as her siblings, Ludwig & Ivan Negro, Micika Harambasich, Dragica Negro, Lubica Pavlich, Lela Sremec, Bozica Negro and Nevinka Kovacich The family has entrusted Cecilia’s care to the Kubina-Yuhasz-Wasko Funeral Home, where they will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 24, 2019.
