Chadwick “Chad” Perry Kogelschatz, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 of accidental injuries. Chad was born on October 28, 1982, in Grand Rapids, a beautiful brown eyed boy with the personality and heart of a lion. Surviving are Chad’s wife, Lindsy Kogelschatz, his son, Cooper Kogelshatz; his parents, Perry and Becky Kogelschatz; his brother and sister in law, Mitch and Jessica Kogleshcatz; his sister, Cassandra “Sis” Kogelschatz; his nephew, Mitchell Kogelschatz; his niece, Brecklyn Kogelschatz; his grandmother, Donna Martin and several uncles, aunts and cousins, and in-laws who all loved him very much!

Chad met his love while still in high school, his Lindsy (Lindsy Van Porfliet) of Grand Rapids, MI. Lindsy traveled where ever Chad was and was by his side in marriage until he passed. They were united in marriage October 13, 2007 and shared their love and expressed it through their son, Cooper (Cooper Perry Kogelschatz) born June 25, 2014.

Chad graduated from Northview High School in 2001 and went on to study at Universal Technical Institute in North Carolina for Nascar. He was then selected by Mercedes Benz in April of 2004 and was granted a graduate program from them. After graduation he relocated to Fairbanks, Alaska with a company who sold and repaired Mercedes Benz, Kias and GMC vehicles.

Aurora Borealis, they hired Chad, he was 22 at that time. They flew him and his tools, gave him a vehicle and an apartment to live in and work for them, to prep new Mercedes Benz vehicles. What an experience for a young man.

Chad returned to his home state in Michigan May 2006. Chad worked for Roskam Baking Company as a Manufacturing manager and then in the Engineering department. Chad had many talents in the work environment and at home.

He could tear apart anything and put it back together with a whole new concept of how it should perform. His talents and abilities were his hobbies. His heart was such, that if he were driving and there was a dead animal in the middle of the road, he would drive around it.

He felt, if he ran it over, it would hurt the animal again in heaven. Chad was a very humble and caring man. Our Chad was all that and then some!
