Charlene Wood, 82, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away February 14, 2019 at the Hansen Family Hospital of Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Charlene Wood will be 10:30 am Tuesday February 19, 2019 at the Linn’s Funeral Home; 1521 Washington Ave. ; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126.

There will be a time of visitation from 4:00 until 6:00 pm Monday February 18, 2019 also at the Linn’s Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Falls. ; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126 Charlene Kay Wood was born November 16, 1936 in Williams, Iowa to Charles Francis and Zella Bess [Smith] Fleming. She attended the Williams Community Schools and country schools before graduating from the Iowa Falls Community School District in 1955. After attending the Ellsworth Community College for a short time she was united in marriage to Kenneth Ross Wood on November 20, 1955.

To this union four children were born: Paul, Michael, Julie, and John. While most of her life she was a homemaker, she enjoyed farming with her husband. Charlene was a 4-H leader and honorary member of 4-H, along with being the secretary and manager of the Hardin County Fair for many years.

She was a member of the Ellis United Methodist Church for 61 years, and attended the Owasa Methodist Church. She helped start the Church Women United Thrift Store in its beginning stages. Some of Charlenes pastimes were reading, flowers, and quilting, however those couldn’t compete with her love of being a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Charlene Kay Wood is survived by her husband: Kenneth Wood of Iowa Falls, Iowa; three sons and a daughter: Paul Wood of Iowa Falls, Michael “Mike” [Laurie] Wood of Aledo, Illinois, Julie Wood of Ramsey, Minnesota, and John Wood of Iowa Falls; a sister: Sharon Buskirk of Sparks, Nevada; a brother: Ron [Sylvia] Fleming of Cambridge, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-granchildren.
