Charles Coleman Hardin, 74, of Dupont passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. Born January 23, 1944 in Seymour, Mr. Hardin was the son of the late Coleman and Mary Veronica Burgmeier Hardin. Mr. Hardin was a1962 graduate of New Albany High School in New Albany and served in the U. S. Army in the Dominican Republic 1962-1965 with the 82nd Airborne Division.

He worked 30 years for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus from March 22, 1966 until his retirement on April 30, 1996. Mr. Hardin was a lifetime member of the Matt Hester Post #2021 V.F.W. and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to Rush Limbaugh on the radio and watching Indiana University Basketball.

Survivors include his aunt, Fabian McCammon of North Vernon and several cousins, including Tina Updike of North Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service for Mr. Hardin will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon with members of Matt Hester Post #2021, V.F.W. providing military graveside rites.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon.
