He was also a graduate of (VPI) Virginia Tech and MCV where he obtained his dental license. He was a Captain and Veteran of the United States Air Force. Don King was a member of the Clintwood United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his son David King and Grandson P.J. King. He is survived by: Wife of 70 years, Kay King of Clintwood, Virginia 2 Daughters Donna King of Clintwood, Virginia Mimi Stiltner (Hubby) of Abingdon, Virginia 2 Sons: Paul King of Clintwood, Virginia Noel King (Tammy) of Chilhowie, Virginia Sister Janet Vital (Bob) of Huntington, West Virginia Also, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren The Celebration of Life will be Monday, January 28, 2019 at 2:00pm at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John McCord officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.
