Charles Edward McCall, 62, of Connersville passed away Wednesday morning, July 4, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. One of two children of Charles Henry and Lillie Marie Griffin McCall, Charles was born in Union Springs, Alabama on July 30, 1955. Charles was a 1973 graduate of Clayton High School and served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era.

Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Charles worked for federal contractors and the Army Corps of Engineers throughout the south. In 2011, he came to Connersville and was employed at Wayzata Industries where he was head of Maintenance until his retirement in March of 2018. On January 27, 1979, Charles married the former Maria Kathleen Jasper in Clayton, Alabama.

Mrs. McCall survives. Charles was an avid Alabama Football fan, and he enjoyed deer hunting, vegetable gardening, and his pet Yorkies. Besides his wife of 39 years, Kathleen McCall, survivors include a stepdaughter, Randi L. Smith of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; step-grandchildren, Kris Ann Arbuckle, Emily Mae Arbuckle, and Grace Margret Nikolas; nieces, Josephine and Dana Marie Hickman; nephews, Toby and Randy L. Hickman; great-nephews, Bryant L. Grant, JaDarius D. Johnson, Kalob M. Jones, Davon Charles Hickman, and LaBron Dixon Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Lillie Marie Hickman.

Family and friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2018, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Pastor John D. Jordan will officiate. Following cremation, Charles will be laid to rest in the National Cemetery in Biloxi, Mississippi near Keesler Air Force Base.
