Martha Ann Firsich, 87, of Connersville passed away early Monday morning, September 17, 2018, at Fayette Regional Health System. One of two children of Glenn A. and Thelma B. Widman, Martha was born on November 4, 1930, in Indianapolis. She graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1948.

On June 4, 1949, Martha was married in St. Gabriel Church to Albert Firsich, Jr Mr. Firsich passed away on January 2, 2013. In her early years, Martha worked at A. E. Leiters, and then for many years she was employed at Williams Widman Oil Company until her retirement.

Martha was a member of St. Gabriel Church and in her leisure time enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, watching sports, and traveling. An avid reader, Martha enjoyed the Harlequin book series. Survivors include two children, John R. Firsich and Sue (David) Jobe, all of Connersville; two grandchildren, Ashleigh Colley (Derek) and their daughter on the way, Finnleigh, and Christopher Colley (Harmonie), all of Indianapolis; a brother, Buell Widman of Whittier, California; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Wilhelm of Connersville; several nieces and nephews; and also Martha’s lifelong best friend, Dorothy Spaulding of Connersville.

Besides her husband of 63 years, Albert Firsich, Jr., Martha was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Bill Colley; brothers-in-law, Robert, Vincent, Leon, William, and James Firsich; sisters-in-law, Viola Spaulding, Barbara Wilson, Christina Wise, Deloris Temple, and Bernita Widman. Family and friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 232 W 9th Street, Connersville, Indiana. Reverend Dustin Boehm will officiate.

Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Gabriel School Endowment and online condolences may be made anytime at millermosterrobbins.com.
