Mary Frances Back, 85, of Connersville passed away late Monday evening, October 29, 2018, at Heritage House of Connersville. The daughter of Joaquin A. and Mary Ellen Hartwell Reyes, Mary was born in Newport, Kentucky, on May 29, 1933. Following high school, Mary graduated from Penn State as a Registered Nurse.

On June 30, 1950, Mary was married in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Kenneth Back. They remained husband and wife for over 65 years. Mr. Back passed away on June 11, 2016.

For several years, Mary was employed in the emergency room at Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia. She also worked for Dr. Kerrigan, Fayette Memorial Hospital; Rush Memorial Hospital; Wayne County Health Department; and the Lawrenceburg Public Health Department. Mary was a faithful member of Park Place Church of God, where she enjoyed participating in choir and Triple L Senior Ministry.

She also was a member of Hidden Valley Garden Club, Quilters Club, Book Club, and Bowling League. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, traveling, sewing, and arranging flowers. She won Grand Champion at the Indiana State Fair in both Tailoring and Floral Design.

A devoted mother and wife, Mary greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include two devoted daughters, Mary E. Beneker and Judy A. Mahuron; and attentive sons-in-law, Marcus Beneker and Stephen Mahuron, all of Connersville; five granddaughters, Kelly Marie (Josh) Morgan of New Castle, Maria Beth (Brian) Klein of Bedford, Amy Lynne (Keith) Bartusek of New Palestine, Megan Leigh (Chris) Estelle of Noblesville and Erin Elizabeth (Kenneth) Loechner of Fort Wayne; and twelve great-grandchildren. Besides her beloved husband Ken, Mary was preceded in death by her parents; half-brother, Edwin Hartwell Boehme; and half-sister, Mary Elizabeth Thompson.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
