Charles Edward Burch, 91, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Charles was born in Winslow, Indiana on November 7, 1927. He went to Otwell High School and honorably served in the United States Army after World War II on Guam.

Since retirement, Charles enjoyed fishing and golfing with his son, Brian. He loved traveling, especially to Maggie Valley, North Carolina. Charles was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather.
He had a knack for making everyone feel special. Charles’ daughters remember never leaving their home without him saying, “Call when you get home safely”. He will be missed greatly.
Charles is survived by his wife of 70 years, Irma (Capehart) Burch of Evansville, IN; his children, Brian Burch (Debbie ) of Evansville, IN, Kristi Klein of Evansville, IN, Carmen Hauschild (Tom) of Ft. Branch, IN and Amy Helfert (Mike) of Evansville, IN; sister, Juanita Whitehead of Otwell, IN; brothers, Cary Burch (Deb) of Vincennes, IN and Dana Burch (Janice) of Birdseye, IN; brother-in-law, Donald Dorsey of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Kim Adkisson, Suzae Flick (Bill), Brandi Burch, Jordan Klein, Hannah Klein, Dr. Seth Hauschild (Julie), Ben Hauschild (Ashley), Caroline Hauschild, Andrew Hauschild, Ethan Helfert (Pamela), and Bailey Helfert; and 8 great grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha (Trezise) Rainbolt; his father, Orville Burch; step mother, Mae (McDaniel) Burch; son-in-law, Marc Klein in 2017; grandson-in-law, Gary Adkisson, sisters, Jane Elizabeth Burch, Lorene Dorsey, Patricia Braun; and brothers, Elmer Burch, Maurice Glen Burch and Orville Ray Burch.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave. , Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Brian Sorensen officiating. Burial will follow at Otwell Cemetery in Otwell, Indiana Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 and from 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday at Browning Funeral Home.
