Obituary for Charles Whitaker Charles T. Whitaker, 85, of Elmo, Missouri passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Nodaway Nursing Home in Maryville. He was born on November 4, 1932 in Tarkio, Missouri to Carl W. and Nancy A. (Heard) Whitaker. Charles served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the Elmo Christian Church, Bradley Carver American Legion Post #492, Nodaway Masonic Lodge #470 AF & AM. Charles retired from R E C United Services, where he worked as a custodian. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Roger D. Whitaker, half-brother, Merle Shipley.

He married Helen D. Kerns on May 12, 1955 in Elmo, Missouri. She survives of the home. Additional survivors one son, James W. (Donna) Whitaker, Burlington Junction, Missouri; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services 2pm Friday, February 9th at the Elmo Christian Church, Elmo, Missouri. Burial LaMar Cemetery, Elmo, Missouri under the direction of Price Funeral Home, Maryville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
