Obituary for Sister Mary Jones Sr. Mary Audrey Jones, OSB 1925-2018 Sr. Mary Audrey Jones, OSB, 92 passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Our Lady of Rickenbach, Benedictine Convent of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde, Missouri. Mary Audrey Jones was born on December 17, 1925 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Don and Loretta (Kendall) Jones. She attended St. John’s Grade School, taught by the Ursulines and continued under the Ursulines for her first two years of high school, at St. Ursula’s Academy.

Upon leaving high school she also enrolled at Tri-State University intending to continue studying at the business career she had begun in school. Rather, she enrolled at St. Mary Manse College and majored in Chemistry, graduating in June 1947. She entered the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration May 24,1948.

She made her first profession of vows on April 13, 1950 and was given the name of Sister Mary Audrey, and her final profession of vows on May 3, 1955. Commencing in 1958 she spent six summers St. Benedict/St. John’s University in Minnesota to attain a Master’s Degree in Religious Studies/Monasticism and received her doctorate in Theology from St. John’s College. She served the Community through the years as Formation Director, Prioress and Prioress General.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James Jones and Clement Don Jones. Survivors include her Monastic family; sister-in-law, Reene Jones and many nieces and nephews. Vigil will be held at 7pm Wednesday, February 21st at Our Lady of Rickenbach.

Mass of Christian Burial 11am Thursday, February 22nd at the Monastery Chapel with burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Clyde, Missouri. Arrangements Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri www.
