Obituary for Eugene McCown Eugene J. McCown, 77, of St. Joseph, Missouri formerly of Burlington Junction, Missouri passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at LaVerna Village of St. Joseph. Eugene was born on January 12, 1941 in Maryville, Missouri to Harold A. and Mildred M. (Farquhar) McCown. Eugene was a graduate of Burlington Junction High School.

He received his B.S. and Masters degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Psychology and received an additional Masters degree from the University of Missouri and taught in the Phychology Department at Northwest Missouri State University. He later worked for the Maryville Treatment Center as a case worker. Eugene married Dianne Lyle on May 5, 1973 in Red Oak, Iowa, She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Jonnie (Nick) Kemerling, Rock Port, Missouri, Katie McCown (Troy Poppa), St. Joseph, Missouri; two sons, Scott (Jaimie) Pfeifer, Kansas City, Missouri and Rebbie Joe; seven grandchildren, Payton, Drue, Dylan, Ryder, River, Will and Leighton; sister, Bonnie (Joe) Hayes, Maryville, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services 2pm Monday, April 9th at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri.

Burial Ohio Cemetery, Burlington Junction, Missouri. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday. www.
