CHARLES WINKELMAN Charles (“Sonny”, “Chuck”) Walter Winkelman, age 81, of Woodland Park, CO, made his way to his heavenly home on June 28, 2018, after battling dementia for many years. Charles was born on September 18, 1936 in Chandler, OK to Charles and Wilma Winkelman. After a tragic house fire took their mother, they gained a second mother, Edith Virginia Hart.

He spent a fun-filled childhood in Phillipstown, Illinois with his siblings, Patricia Charlene, Robert Melton, and Gregory Dean, and graduated from Crossville High School. After serving in the army in Germany for three years, Charles moved to Odessa, TX where he met his wife Ivy Juanita (Nita) Row. He was a loving, giving husband for 57 years and beloved father to Russell Dean and Marcy Lynn.

Charles retired from his career in the oil refinery industry to his much-loved Colorado, settling in Woodland Park for the past 21 years. Charles became a believer in 1968, and selflessly served his Lord and Savior as a Deacon in Corpus Christi, TX and here at High View Baptist Church. He has three grandchildren, Ashley Jaquline Hasselbach, Sonni Victoria Mireles and Morgan Taylor Mireles.

The Memorial Services will be held at High View Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 3rd, at 2:00 pm.
