Obituary of Charles Martin Charles Douglas “Doug” Martin, age 66, of Mt. Gilead died Monday, April 30, 2018 at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehabilitation, Biscoe. Mr. Martin was born August 27, 1951 at Monroe, NC the son of the late LG.

Martin and Myrtle Helms Martin. Mr. Martin was a retired Pastor, having served numerous churches in the Monroe Area for the past 31 years. He is survived by his wife: Connie (Greene) Martin; son Harrison Martin of Troy; two granddaughters: Grace and Charity Martin of Willow Springs.

Mr. Martin loved his granddaughters, Grace and Charity. He reupholstered furniture in his spare time. He loved old cars especially his ’67 SS Chevelle.

He loved to play and teach guitar. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 1:30 – 2:45 pm at Long Hill Baptist Church,637 Capelsie Rd. , Candor, NC 27229.

The funeral will follow at 3:00 at with Rev. Jack Hildreth, Rev. Danny Helms, and Rev.

Mark Forrest officiating. Burial will be in Long Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Candor. On-line condolences may be made at www.
