OBITUARY Charlie Maynard Wood November 9, 1949 – September 17, 2018 Charlie Maynard Wood, 68, of Lynchburg passed away Monday, September 17, 2018, at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born November 9, 1949, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Maynard Harvey Wood and the late Mable Coleman Wood. Charlie was an active member of Centenary United Methodist Church.

He was a 1968 graduate of E.C. Glass High School and also of Central Virginia Community College as well as Northeastern University of Boston, where he studied mechanical engineering. Charlie was an active member of the Democratic Party as he was an alternate delegate at two of the national conventions. Charlie is survived by his extended family and friends, particularly his special friends, Jim Henderson and Larry Farmer.

A memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Doug Gunsalus. Inurnment at Fort Hill Memorial Park will take place at a later date.
