Obituary for Chase Caye Roth Mrs. James Jay Roth, Sr. passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018, after a battle with small cell lung cancer. Chase was born November 20,1935 in Cleveland, Ohio, the only child of the late Loretta Frank Caye and Chase Caye. After graduating from Atherton High School, she went to work at National Distillers.

Shortly thereafter, Chase met the love of her life, Jimmy Roth. They were married 53 years, proudly rearing their three children in Louisville. Chase is survived by her husband, James Jay “Jimmy” Roth, Sr.; her three children, James Jay Roth, Jr., (Lori), Todd Roth (Charlotte) and Chase Ann Roth; grandchildren, Adam Roth, Matt Beck (Charlotte), Tara Monyhan (Derek), Tyler Evens (Jessica) and Charles Albert and Alivia Chase DeBardelben and great grandchildren, Ethan and Atticus Monyhan.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Chip DeBardelben. Being a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, her Funeral Mass will be celebrated there Wednesday, September 19, at 11:00 a.m., 501 Cherrywood Road, followed by a private burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 18, 2018, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, “in St. Matthews”.

In keeping with Chase’s wishes, memorial contributions may be made to the Louisville Community Foundation, 325 West Main Street, #1110, Louisville, Kentucky 40202, or to the donor’s charity of choice.
