Mr. Chesley Harold “C.H.” Maxwell, age 76 of Douglasville, formerly of Rockmart, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019. Mr. Maxwell was born October 16, 1942 in Rockmart, son of the late Frank Eugene Maxwell and the late Carrie Lorena Benefield Maxwell. He was a graduate of Rockmart High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Mr. Maxwell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Douglasville and retired from Delta Airlines with over 30 years of service from mechanic to working in the operations department. He enjoyed restoring homes, taking walks and watching birds, gardening and going to the gym. Mr. Maxwell touched and inspired so many lives with his smile, his words of truth and wisdom, and his complete trust and faith in his LORD.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janie Ruth Noland Maxwell in 1999; and three sisters, Mildred Lanier, Betty Knight and Joy Garrett. Survivors include three children, Karalee and William Perrien of Winston, Andrew and Robin Maxwell of Douglasville, and Jeniffer and Clinton Barker of Douglasville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Margie Bowman, and Debra and Junior Pace, all of Rockmart; brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Sheila Maxwell of Mableton; and six grandchildren, Rhiannon and Zoie Perrien, Anna and Jessica Maxwell, and David Calain and Nathan Barker. Memorial services for Mr. Maxwell will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Mr. Andrew Maxwell officiating.
