The world became a little less bright on Saturday, October 27, 2018. We lost “Pops,” Christopher Charles Parks. He passed away at 8:10 p.m. Pops was born on June 12, 1965 Jackson, MI to the late Donald and Mary Parks.

He was a character from the start. The world was challenged, blessed, and brighter with Pops in it. He taught valuable life lessons on responsibility, the value of a dollar, and how to truly enjoy life.

We don’t believe he ever regretted a moment of his all too short time. Pops was the owner and operator of Indiana & Michigan Concrete Company. He worked hard and was also a man who knew how to love fiercely and took so much pride in his children.

We were his light. Everything that Pops accomplished was for us. He has left a legacy of so much good.

We don’t quite know how we’re going to do this without him. One thing for sure, we’re so very thankful for the time we shared. Christopher is survived by the mother of his children, Julie Johnson; his son, Eric (Emily) Parks; his daughter, Sarah (Alvie) Ellenwine; and his brothers and sisters, Kathy Roush, Matthew Parks, Robert Parks, and Sharron Tury.

A celebration of life party will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Chris’s home. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Christopher Parks may be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.

Online condolences may be offered to the Parks family at www. palmerfuneralhomes.com.
