Clara Feaster Barkley July 15, 1934 – December 26, 2018 Clara Ruth Feaster Barkley, 84, of Eden, departed this life on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at her residence. Born in Chester, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel Feaster, Sr. and Nannie Cammon Feaster. Her husband, Marion M. Barkley, Sr., preceded her in death in November.

Mrs. Barkley was a member of First Baptist Church of Salisbury where she served as a member of the Culinary and Soup Kitchen Ministries and former usher. Prior to retiring, she was employed by Campbell Soup Company for 35 years. After retiring, she worked as a cook at Salvation Army and Big Daddy’s.

She will be lovingly remembered by: two daughters, Patricia Starks and Robin G. Wright (Wilson); three sons, Marion M. Barkley, Jr., Laval “Scooter” Barkley, Sr. (Delema), and Brett Barkley, Sr.; three sisters, Martha Freeman (Robert), Nannie Long, and Audrey F. Hines (Howard); three sisters-in-law, Lillie Mae Johnson, Alvita Davis, and Frances Burke; a brother-in-law, Curtis Johnson; two devoted friends, Carolyn and Clarence Hudson; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by four brothers, James Feaster, David Feaster, Laval Feaster, and Michael Feaster. Mrs. Barkley will lie in repose on Friday, January 4, 2019, from 6 to 8 PM at Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home, P.A., 1618 West Road, Salisbury and Saturday, January 5, 2019, from 9 to 10 AM at First Baptist Church, 528 Booth Street and Delaware Avenue, Salisbury.

The funeral service will begin at 10 AM. Rev. Dr. Lewis N. Watson will be the Officiating Pastor.

Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens, 27260 Ocean Gateway, Hebron.
