Claudie (“Joe”)’s Obituary CLAUDIE (“JOE”) JOESIAH BLEVINS, 75, of Bland, VA, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019. He was born March 1, 1943 at Konnarock, VA, the son of the late Claudie & Ruby Huffman Blevins. He was a master carpenter who loved playing music, attending church and playing Rook.

He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his friends and talking about old times. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ellen Blevins and three brothers, James, Elmer and Awney Blevins. Left to cherish his memory are his son & daughter-in-law, Junior & Kristi Blevins; his daughters, Tammy, Lola and Cindy Blevins; his grandchildren, Josh & Alisha Blevins, Brandon & Desiree Blevins, Christopher Blevins and Madison Hagan; his great-granddaughter, Kadence Blevins; three brothers, J.D., Paul and Ervin Blevins; a sister, Betty Stallard; and several special friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate with Rev. Dennis Haga and Rev. Marty Stallard officiating.

Burial will follow in Laurel Cemetery, Konnarock, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. The Blevins family is in the care of A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, avestandsons.com, (540) 921-2985.
