MORRISTOWN – Connie Lou (Ball) Scott, age 76, of Morristown, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Breckenridge, Texas on March 13, 1942. Connie married David Owen Scott on March 13, 1989 in Shelbyville.

She was the co-owner of Scott Art Castings for 18 years. Connie was a former member of Bass N Gals in Texas. She had many pieces on display at the Hoosier Salon Show, where she was awarded the People’s Choice.

Connie had a true talent and was an amazing portrait painter and sculptor. She also made Western paintings and jewelry. Connie enjoyed refurbishing Barbie dolls that she would donate to various organizations and also crafted refurbished fur coats into quilts.

She was an avid tropical plant person and took care of a personal rainforest conservatory on her property. She loved horses, dogs, and animals and was a fisherman for 15 years. She loved going to Vegas and she was an incredible poker player and would play two nights a week.

Connie was a humble, generous and selfless person. Her and her husband have many of their pieces they sculpted together around Indiana including sculptures around all the St. Francis Hospitals and Friendship Gardens in Plainfield. In Ohio, she sculpted Glen Jeep Davis the Olympic runner.

She even sculpted zoo animals at the Fort Wayne Zoo. Connie and her husband began a sculpture together of Alya from Clan of the Cave Bear and David is going to finish it as tribute to her. Connie is survived by her husband, David Scott of Morristown; three sons, Robert Phillips of Greenfield, James Phillips of Greenfield, and Chad Phillips of Morristown; six grandchildren; and sister, Linda Sargent.

She was preceded in death by her father; and mother, Clara Ball. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Mike Canny will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or IndyHumane, 7929 N. Michigan Road, Indianapolis IN 46268.
