Conway W. Henderson, 76, of Boiling Springs, SC, was born in Franklin, NC on November 19, 1942 and passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at his home. From an early age, Conway had a passion for learning, a deep love for all things with four legs and fur, a commitment to hard work and a razor-sharp wit. After graduating from Franklin High School, Conway earned a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from Wake Forest University.

He then completed a PhD from the University of Iowa. He began a successful teaching career spanning 30 years at the University of South Carolina Upstate. During his career he published several scholarly articles in academic journals as well as two textbooks used in University classrooms here and abroad.

He was also a faculty advisor for Amnesty International and a member of several academic associations. Left to cherish the memory of Conway are his daughter, Carol Elizabeth Henderson of Front Royal, VA; his step-daughter, Edie Anne Brown (Rob) of Mechanicsville, VA; his sisters, Jo Ann Henderson and Linda Morrow (Gene) of Franklin, NC; his cherished grandchildren, Morgan, MacKenzie and Matthew Ellinger, Justin and Anna Brown; and special nephew, Phil Henderson and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Calhoun Henderson and Adeline Teague Henderson; and two brothers, Max T. Henderson and Charles L. Henderson.

Conway will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, a steadfast brother, an animal lover and a man who would attempt to fix just about anything, especially if it meant a great reason to buy a new tool!
